Is This It by The Strokes

Is This It is the debut studio album by alternative rock band The Strokes and was released on July 30th of 2001. The release of the album is widely considered to be a watershed moment and crucial on the reinvention of post-millenium guitar music. Many publications have listed it as one of the best albums of the 2000s and of all time. I first heard this album my freshman year of high school, and when I first heard it, I played it on repeat for a month. This album is an all time classic for me and is one of the few albums that does not contain a single skip for me.

“Last Night” is definitely my favorite song off of the album. I first remember hearing the song when I was very young, as it was a background soundtrack to MLB 2K12. As I got older and heard the song, the feelings that it brought me when I was younger would rush back. Additionally, the poppy tune of this album is overal a feel good vibe.
