Whole Lotta Red by Playboi Carti

Whole Lotta Red is the second studio album by rapper Playboi Carti and was released on December 25th of 2020. The album was highly anticipated and there was much hype built up due to leaks and album release delays. Due to the extreme hype around the album, there was initially much criticism of the album. The style of the album is very different from any other rap album as there a great amount of punk and heavy metal influence. Eventually, fans grew to love the album and its revolutionary style. The recent tour for the album was known for being one of the wildest tours, and even had a show canceled due to fans breaking in. Personally, I also did not enjoy the album at first, but over time it slowly grew on me. It eventually became one of my favorite albums of 2021 and had some of my most listened to songs. It was even ranked by Rolling Stone as the Best Rap Album of 2021. This album is completely revolutionary and even inspired a whole new style of rap music.

“Sky” is easily my favorite song off of the album. Its poppy and melodic style mixed with the hard rap is very captivating. Playboi Carti has some of the best delivery in the rap game, and he puts it all on display in this song.
